MPower- equipping the Church to reach the broken
Every single day, young women all over the UK are struggling with anorexia, bulimia, self-harm, depression and the effects of abuse in all its forms. These women are in our communities, in our churches, in our youth groups, and in our families…
The government with all its resources, projects, and best intentions was not anointed to set the captives free-that mandate was given to the Church. Yet many in the Church feel ill-informed, under-equipped and out of touch with the life controlling issues faced by those they reach out to.
As a Christian charity with over 25 years’ experience in providing residential support for young women with life controlling issues, we are passionate about the Church’s role in providing an answer to the needs of our society and we feel a responsibility to share our knowledge and expertise with those who are on the forefront of Christian social action.
To that end, we have developed our MPower training events to educate, equip, empower, and encourage church leaders in order to maximise the church’s response to the broken and vulnerable.
Each one-day MPower event is hosted by an experienced member of the MMUK team and consists of three main seminars focusing on:’ Eating Disorders’, ‘Self-harm’ and ‘Keys to Supporting Broken Women’.
MPower events will be held around the UK at various locations and venues, with the main venue being in West Yorkshire, which includes a tour of Mercy Ministries UK’s residential home and HQ.
