Our Programme
What is Mercy Ministries?
Mercy Ministries is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing a six-month residential programme for young women suffering from life controlling issues. We deal with the root cause of these issues and address all aspects of a young woman's well being with the sole intent of bringing her to a place where she is able to smile at her future.
Our structured programme consists of:
- A discipleship programme called Choices that Bring Change, which offers in-depth individualised sessions on a one-to-one basis
- Biblical teaching
- Life skills training
- Fitness and nutrition
- Residential care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- After care and staff support
Who does our programme help?
Mercy Ministries is a distinctly Christian organisation dedicated to helping young women – ages 18 to 28 – who have a strong desire to change and who specifically seek our care for a variety of addictions and hurts.
The applicants are predominantly from Christian backgrounds and seek our help because of our faith-based approach.
Women below the age of 18 may apply to our programme but we are unable to offer a residential place until the age of 18.
Applicants are dealing with issues such as:
- Eating disorders
- Self harm
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Suicide tendencies
- Unplanned pregnancy
- Drug & alcohol abuse
- Effects of sexual, physical and emotional abuse
Or any oth er issue that is controlling a young woman's life.
How is Mercy Ministries unique?
Individual care plan
Women entering our programme require individual care and attention. Issues are assessed and a plan to stage the recovery process is formulated. The length of stay is approximately six months with some variations dependent on individual issues and p
rogress. Graduation is celebrated when a resident has worked through the stages of recovery and consistently demonstrates that she is equipped with the necessary life skills and strategies to integrate back in
to society and lead a productive and fulfilling life.
Voluntary Programme
Although Mercy Ministries is a voluntary programme, residents are expected to participate with the staff and be involved in all aspects of the programme. Residents are free to leave the programme at any time.
No Cost
Our programme is provided completely free of charge. The purpose of this is to demonstrate that we value any young woman who is serious about changing her life, no matter who she is, what background she is from, or what her financial circumstance.
Complete Restoration
If a young woman is willing to face and work through her issues, change is possible no matter what the situation or circumstance. It requires a great deal of courage and it is enormously challenging, but it is possible. Working with the staff and facilities made available, the residents have the choice to move beyond minimal function and in most cases, into a life that is rewarding and fulfilling.
Location of Mercy Ministries homes
Mercy Ministries UK currently operates one residential home in Oxenhope, West Yorkshire with plans to expand across the UK.
Mercy Ministries UK church affiliation

Each residential home is affiliated with a local church in the community that supports the programme. The young women attend church services as part of the programme.
Who financially supports the program?
Mercy Ministries is financially supported through individual donors, church partnerships, trust funds, corporate partnerships and fundraising events that are held throughout the year.
