Jude's Story
When I came to Mercy Ministries UK, I was confused and angry and just a mess mentally and emotionally.
Being at Mercy was a time of huge growth in my life as a person and in my relationship with God. Being there helped me learn that I have a choice about how I live my life. Some of the biggest challenges for me were learning how to take thoughts captive and learning how to manage my emotions.
Fear was one of the main emotions I struggled with and it would often overwhelm me. But at Mercy I learned how to take control of fear and not let it rule my life. I found out that my real problem was not to do with anything that had happened to me in my life, but was to do with the way I responded to those things that had happened. My attitude was the main problem.
I had been my own worst enemy for most my life. I learned to accept myself and love myself in a balanced way. I found healing from the inside outwards, and although I am far from perfect, at least I now have the tools to make healthy choices.
Before I was barely surviving life and feeling hopeless. Now I have hope again and I realised that life is worth fighting for.
