Programme Structure
Daily Schedule
Monday - Thursday
The young women work to a structured and routine schedule. The following is only a guideline and while we work towards consistent structure in the programme, times and activities may vary due to unforseen circumstances or special events.
7.00 am
Wake Up
7.00 – 9.00 am
Showers & Breakfast
7.30 am
Work duties: All young women are rostered on to various household duties from cleaning up after breakfast to vacuuming the hallways
9.00 am
Morning class begins with praise and worship, followed by reading the Bible together with group discussion
10.00am
Morning snack
10.15 am
Class continues with a guest speaker, staff member or audio visual teaching material addressing the behavioural, emotional & spiritual aspects of a young woman's life.
11.15 am
Class concludes. Lunch preparation begins.
Once per week the 9.00 am – 11.15 am time will be taken up by group counselling
12.00 pm
Lunch
1.45 pm- 4.30pm
Fitness/recreation/counselling
Recreation may include:
- Working out at the gym
- Team sports
- Trampolining
- Helping out with community services
- Art/Dance classes
- Walking the dog
3.30 pm
Afternoon snack
Residents have counseling and Equine Assisted Therapy once per week in the afternoon, as well as doctor and dietitian appointments as required. Also, free time to complete counseling assignment is giving in the afternoons.
6.00 pm
Dinner
7.15 pm
Evening Class – this is similar to morning class, but allows for more discussion and questions
8.00 pm
A study time after class is specifically for counselling homework, personal reading or study
8.45 pm
Evening snack
9.30 pm
Bed time
10.00 pm
Lights out
Friday - Sunday
Shopping, outings, DVDs, phone calls & church make up the weekends. The routine is a lot more relaxed and there is plenty of free time.
